The ManUtd midfielder is suspected of violating the ‘big taboo’ rule introduced by Ten Hag at Old Trafford

Central defender Raphael Varane recently made a move that is considered a serious violation of Man United’s rules.
Midfielder Raphael Varane posted a photo on Instagram while enjoying his free time at an unidentified skiing destination. It is known that Man United’s rules stipulate that players are prohibited from going skiing during the season because of the risk of injury.

Although the photo shows that the defender is just standing there and has no intention of skiing, the French midfielder cannot avoid suspicion of breaking this rule when returning to Old Trafford. Coach Erik Ten Hag would be very angry if he knew his players participated in any skiing activities, especially Varane who is sensitive to injuries.
Not only Man United, skiing activities are banned by most clubs across Europe because of the always potential risk of injury. Remember, Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer broke his leg in an accident during the winter break after returning from Germany’s disastrous World Cup campaign in Qatar. As a result, Neuer had to miss a total of 10 months.

Luckily, Varane’s representative confirmed that the former Real Madrid player did not ski at the resort.

This season, there were rumors that Varane wanted to leave Man United amid interest from many big names. The French midfielder’s current contract with MU will expire this season after the team has not yet decided whether to extend it for another year or not.

Varane showed a clear decline with only 18 appearances in all competitions for Man United this season. The 2018 World Cup champion was even pushed to the bench by Harry Maguire before somewhat regaining trust from Erik Ten Hag, but in reality this player still has not met the average level compared to other players.
