Sharing pictures of himself dipping his toes in the ocean on the unknown beach, Salah looked a far cry from the player that struggled to carry Egypt through the World Cup.

Despite struggling with his fitness, the 26-year-old had the weight of his country on his shoulders as his nation crashed out in the group stage.

But after a gruelling campaign that saw him win the Golden Boot for Liverpool with record-breaking 32 league goals, Salah could eventually let his hair down in the sunshine.

Uploading pictures to Instagram, he looked like a picture of relaxation while gazing out to the horizon and paddleboarding in the mild surf.

Salah will join the rest of his team-mates before the end of July to step up preparations for the new season.

After signing a whopping £200,000-a-week contract extension, expectancy will be raised on Salah as Liverpool continue to build a squad capable of challenging Manchester City to the title.

Keeper Alisson is expected to join in a world record £66.8million move as Klopp improves the spine of his side.

Liverpool star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain set to miss WHOLE of 2018-19 season through injury

The Brazilian will become the club’s fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri.

But the German gaffer may need to further delve into the market following the crushing news that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be out for the season.
